About Organisation:
The Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development (MGLSD) is a cabinet-level government ministry in Uganda responsible for community mobilization, empowerment, and the protection of vulnerable groups.
Job Summary: To design, implement, and manage robust monitoring and evaluation frameworks, ensuring accurate data collection, analysis, and reporting.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor all Program activities, expenditures and progress towards achieving the Program and DOSH objectives
- Coordinate and conduct periodic Program evaluations to assess the impact and effectiveness of interventions. Analyze evaluation findings and recommend adjustments to enhance Program performance.
- Prepare quarterly and annual Program/DOSH reports in collaboration with the National Program Coordinator, DOSH Officers and Commissioner for Occupational Safety and Health.
- Participate in annual Program reviews and planning meetings.
- Perform any other duty that may be assigned by the National Programme Coordinator.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Academic Qualification:
- An Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Monitoring and Evaluation from a recognized institution
- Possession of a Post Graduate qualification in Project Management or Public Administration and Management from a recognized institution will be an added advantage.
- Additional certification or qualification in chemistry is considered an added advantage.
Working Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience from Public Institution working with similar programs or related to Occupational Safety or Environment protection.
Competencies
- Technical skills in setting up quality M&E processes and creating logical frameworks and data analysis that lead to learning and action.
- Excellent computer skills with all Microsoft Office Programs (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Excellent Organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong report writing skills
- Being collaborative, proactive, ethical, transparent, responsible, flexible and open
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
- Demonstrated commitment to promoting transparency and accountability
- Results-driven, respects deadlines and have a pragmatic approach focused on realistic results
- Knowledge of Ugandan regulations and international best practices on Occupational Safety and Health.
