Unifi Uganda delivers personal lending products from branch-based channels, utilising internally generated software and lending products backed by internal IT and data analytics teams.
Job Summary: We are looking for a dynamic and proactive accountant to join our fast growing team in Uganda. The role would best suit someone who is energized by a challenge and possesses the ability to manage multiple priorities without losing focus on what is most important.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting by strictly controlling and capturing all financial transactions (per IFRS).
- This involves reconciling balance sheet and control accounts, conducting analytical reviews, and promptly clearing reconciling items.
- Generate and present timely periodic financial reports (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual) and management accounts to stakeholders, including detailed variance analysis against budgets and prior periods.
- Calculate key statistics and KPIs, and assist in developing annual budgets and forecasts.
- Facilitate the conduct of external, internal and regulatory audits
- Manage the end-to-end Accounts Payable process, including maintaining the procurement approval framework, ensuring timely capture and scanning of all invoices, monthly reconciliation of all supplier accounts, and effective payment planning.
- Manage statutory compliance, ensuring the accurate and timely filing and payment of monthly taxes, managing corporate secretarial filings with URSB.
- Ensure compliance with all mandated regulatory reporting requirements.
- Provide ad-hoc reports to management as needed.
