Job Title: Field Interviewers (40 Data Collection Jobs)

About Organisation:

Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) is a semi-autonomous agency of Government responsible for maintenance, coordination, supervising and monitoring of the National Statistical System to ensure the collection, analysis and dissemination of standardised statistical information. Job Summary: To undertake effective UNHS Data collection as assigned by the supervisor.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in all training sessions.
  • Locate the assigned Households in the work allocation.
  • Collect information in all the assigned areas.
  • Ensure that all the Field materials/equipment are properly handled, used, and returned to the supervisor after the enumeration exercise.
  • Document any challenges and report immediately
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:




  • Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE)
  • Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with at least a Credit in Mathematics and English
  • Certificate in Computer applications is an added advantage.
  • Experience:
  • 1 years’ experience of continuous data collection.
  • Skills and other attributes
  • Good computer knowledge.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Must be available exclusively for the UNHS activity.
  • Computer literate, able to use Microsoft office Applications and other applications
  • Professionalism, Integrity, team spirit
  • Good communication skills
  • Objective and independent
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Confidence, patience, politeness, tact and diplomacy when dealing with difficult situations.
  • Creative thinking to be able to come up with new ideas
  • An ability to work under pressure
  • Organizing, planning and report writing skills
  • Behavioral attributes
  • Demonstrable record of good conduct and professionalism.
  • Excellent inter-personal relations and communication skills.
  • Analytical, writing and data management skills
