Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced DevOps Project Lead to drive the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of scalable infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and operational automation across our technology ecosystem.
You will lead DevOps initiatives that support internal platforms, customer-facing systems, cloud infrastructure, and Business Support Systems (BSS). The role combines technical leadership, project execution, infrastructure engineering, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient software delivery.
You will work closely with Software Engineers, Infrastructure Teams, Product Owners, Security Teams, and external vendors to standardise DevOps practices, improve deployment velocity, strengthen platform reliability, and drive operational maturity across the organisation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning and execution of DevOps projects across infrastructure, cloud platforms, CI/CD, monitoring, and automation initiatives.
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines for web, mobile, and backend applications.
- Build and manage cloud-native infrastructure environments with high availability, scalability, and resilience.
- Drive infrastructure-as-code adoption using modern automation and provisioning tools.
- Manage containerisation and orchestration platforms for application deployment and scaling.
- Implement monitoring, observability, alerting, and logging solutions across infrastructure and applications.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to optimise deployment workflows, release management, and environment consistency.
- Ensure security best practices are embedded throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
- Lead incident response coordination, root cause analysis, and operational improvement initiatives.
- Define and enforce DevOps standards, governance, and operational procedures.
- Support capacity planning, disaster recovery, backup management, and business continuity initiatives.
- Manage technical project timelines, resource coordination, stakeholder communication, and delivery tracking.
- Mentor engineers and promote a culture of automation, reliability, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate in architectural decisions, sprint ceremonies, and cross-team technical alignment sessions.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Professional certifications in Cloud, DevOps, Kubernetes, Cybersecurity, or Infrastructure Management are an added advantage.
- Must have skills
- 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or Platform Engineering roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with Cloud Infrastructure in production environments.
- Strong experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
- Proficiency with containerisation technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and automation frameworks.
- Experience managing Linux-based production environments and distributed systems.
- Solid understanding of networking, system security, identity access management, and DevSecOps principles.
- Experience implementing monitoring, logging, and observability solutions.
- Strong scripting and automation skills using Bash, Python, or similar languages.
- Experience with configuration management and environment standardisation.
- Strong understanding of secure software delivery and operational resilience.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and project coordination skills.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive technical initiatives across multiple teams.
- Good to have skills
- Experience with Event Driven Architecture & Distributed Systems.
- Experience supporting telecom, ISP, cloud, or enterprise infrastructure environments.
- Familiarity with GitOps practices and modern platform engineering approaches.
- Experience with multi-region or multi-country infrastructure deployments.
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks, disaster recovery planning, and security auditing.
- Exposure to Business Support Systems (BSS), Network Management Systems (NMS), or enterprise integration platforms.
