Job Summary: The Branch Manager will report to the Regional Manager and will be responsible for driving strategy on sales, service, people, operations and business development within the branch, including profits and staff productivity.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Champion the implementation the bank’s business strategy at the branch.
- Participate in developing annual branch budgets and targets in line with the Business department guidelines.
- Develop and implement the branch business growth strategy and drive revenue and profitability of the branch.
- Provide overall direction to the branch staff by identifying new opportunities and implementation
- Implement service standards, monitor service delivery and control of general branch operations and manage operational costs in line with the approved branch budget, the bank policies and the service level agreements
- Responsible for relationship management with clients and potential clients to enhance acquisition, retention and growth.
- Undertake local market research in terms of competition, customer trends and new developments.
- Drive continuous provision of high quality and timely customer experience to promote a sales & service culture within the Branch.
- Initiate, analyze credit request and approve credit facilities within delegated limits in line with the credit policy.
- Monitor closely the performance of credit portfolio and non-performing accounts and facilities.
- Responsible for Branch functionality according to the defined internal quality standards of the bank in terms of Premises, Equipment & Security
- Drive compliance, operations and risk management in the branch, adherence to regulatory policies and procedures to minimize financial losses and taking corrective actions for deviations.
- Proactively identify and assess the risks faced by the Branch and maintain an effective system of controls to minimize exposure.
- Develop periodic branch business reports as per business requirements.
- Ensure safety and maintenance of branch assets, provide effective oversight and general administration to all branch resources.
- Carry out periodic snap checks as per operations manual.
- Manage the performance and development of Branch staff in line with set HR guidelines.
- Identify staffing needs and coordinate
- with the Regional Manager and Human Resources department to facilitate the recruitment process for staff.
- Responsible for the delivery of annual branch budgets
- Responsible for the cost optimization of Branch budget
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
- 4 years’ experience in Banking.
- Must be result driven.
- Ability to coordinate multiple priorities.
- Should have good understanding of Branch Banking systems, process and business.
- Excellent networking skills, with the ability to build rapport and consultatively engage with employees, managers etc.
- Ability to think out of the box and drive change and innovation.
- The ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in written form
- Takes clear accountability and focuses on delivery of broader corporate goals.
- Ability to take decisions and progress towards goals in conditions of uncertainty.
- Ability to demonstrate positive image and role model the Banks values.
- Must be a person of impeccable integrity.
