Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- As our Accountant, you will focus on strengthening financial control and transparency across our commercial operations:
- Take ownership of reconciliations across multiple depots, ensuring accuracy between invoices, stock movements, and customer balances in the system.
- Monitor and manage accounts receivable-related reconciliations, ensuring timely allocation and resolution of discrepancies.
- Perform regular controls and audits across depot locations, including spot checks to ensure compliance with processes and policies.
- Partner closely with commercial teams and customer-facing stakeholders, supporting financial discipline in day-to-day operations.
- Collaborate with the Receivables Accountant and General Ledger Manager to ensure alignment on balances, stock controls, and reporting.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- We’re looking for someone who is detail-oriented, accountable, and ready to own this role in a hands-on and operational environment.
You will also bring:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A professional qualification (e.g., CPA/ACCA) is a strong advantage.
- 2–5 years of experience in finance or accounting roles
- Experience in accounts receivable, reconciliations, or stock-related finance is a strong advantage
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies
- High level of integrity and trustworthiness in handling financial information
- Willingness and flexibility to travel regularly across multiple locations in Uganda (approximately 40% of the time).
