Job Title: Supply Chain Specialist

About Organisation:

Kafkas Limited is a retailer and wholesaler in Kampala, Uganda, offering household appliances (Beko), furniture, and mattresses (Dr. Mattress), often with,50% discounts during promotions.

 

Job Summary: Kafkas Limited, the official dealer of Beko and Dr. Mattress, is looking for a Supply Chain Specialist to join our team in Kampala. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and proactive professional who can manage end-to-end supply chain and purchasing operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating product orders from suppliers, following up inbound logistics and customs clearance processes, preparing transportation and clearance documents, supporting stock counting and stock entries, handling the company’s local purchasing needs, ensuring product availability through effective stock monitoring, managing damaged goods and reverse logistics processes when required, and preparing operational reports for management follow-up.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage product orders with suppliers and follow up the full order cycle
  • Coordinate inbound logistics operations from supplier to warehouse
  • Prepare and control shipping, import, and customs clearance documents
  • Follow up customs clearance processes with related parties
  • Monitor stock levels, support stock counts, and ensure accurate system entries
  • Ensure product availability by monitoring stock levels and maintaining minimum stock requirements
  • Take timely action to avoid stock shortages and supply interruptions
  • Handle local purchasing activities based on company requirements
  • Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs agents, warehouse, and internal teams
  • Ensure timely delivery of products and operational materials
  • Track order status, delivery schedules, and related documentation
  • Manage damaged goods handling and reverse logistics processes when required
  • Prepare regular supply chain, stock, and purchasing reports for management

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in supply chain, logistics, purchasing, or import operations
  • Experience in managing supply chain operations across different sourcing locations
  • Preferably experienced in managing a high number of SKUs in a dynamic business environment
  • Good knowledge of order management, reporting, inbound logistics, customs clearance, and reverse logistics processes
  • Ability to follow and control orders with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experience in preparing operational, stock, and purchasing reports
  • Strong follow-up, coordination, and problem-solving skills
  • Good command of MS Office, especially Excel
  • ERP/system usage experience is an advantage
  • Good communication skills in English
  • High sense of responsibility and attention to detail
