Job Summary: The ALM Analyst is responsible for analyzing and monitoring the Bank’s balance sheet, ensuring optimal levels of liquidity/funding, interest rate risk management, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Balance Sheet Strategy – Analyse and monitor balance sheet drivers, develop projections, analyse economic/market data
- Liquidity Risk Management & Regulatory Reporting – Prepare periodic MI, monitor liquidity position and metrics, conduct stress tests, prepare ILAAP document, submit returns to Bank of Uganda
- Interest Rate Risk Management – Perform gap analysis, measure IRRBB, conduct scenario and stress testing
- Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) – Review application of FTP across business lines
- Capital Management – Assist in capital planning and optimization
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field
- Professional accounting qualification (ACCA or CPA) is an added advantage
- Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in Treasury, FP&A, Financial Reporting or Financial Risk Management within a commercial bank or financial institution, preferably in Uganda
- Good understanding of banking products, balance sheet composition, and financial markets
- Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis
- Practical experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
