Simlaw Seeds Company Uganda Limited is a subsidiary of the Kenya Seed Group of Companies. Established in Kenya in 2002 as a limited liability company, Simlaw Seeds’ core business is the sale and marketing of high-quality horticultural seeds across Kenya and the wider Eastern Africa region.
In Uganda, we import, produce, market, and distribute genuine agricultural inputs, including seeds, agricultural chemicals, and farm tools. Our products serve both commercial farmers and subsistence or domestic users, ensuring access to reliable, quality inputs that support sustainable agricultural growth.
Job Summary: We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-driven candidate to join our team for a fixed-term contract in the Marketing Department. The Sales Officer will support Simlaw Seeds’ sales, marketing, and business development functions, ensuring effective product promotion, customer engagement, and market expansion. In addition to sales responsibilities, the officer will oversee the sales operations, assess staff performance, and foster a culture of accountability and excellence aligned with Simlaw’s mission to deliver high-quality seeds and agricultural inputs.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implementing the Sales and Marketing strategy.
- Forecasting demand for company products.
- Driving sales and distribution of seed and other company products.
- Initiating stock transfer orders.
- Providing customer care services.
- Identifying customer needs and concerns through market intelligence.
- Identifying business growth opportunities.
- Fostering business relationships with clients.
- Promoting and marketing company products.
- Supporting the development of new products in the market.
- Organizing training sessions for seed distributors.
- Drafting periodic work progress reports.
- Representing the company in marketing forums.
- Managing overall branch operations/route sales.
- Assessing and reporting on staff performance at the branch.
- Performing any other duties assigned by management from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
- A Degree in Sales and Marketing, Agriculture, Horticulture, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Fulfilled the requirements of leadership and integrity.
- Working knowledge of computer applications.
- Strong communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Effective negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage branch operations and supervise staff performance.
