About Organisation:
Cafe Africa Uganda (CAU) is seeking qualified and passionate individuals to support the implementation of Empowering Young women Entrepreneurs in agriculture stimulated by Coffee (EYE-C) programme. The EYE-C program is a young women focused initiative aimed at addressing key barriers that limit young women’s transition into decent and fulfilling work. The overall goal of EYE-C is to improve the livelihoods and resilience of young women in Uganda through meaningful participation in the coffee value chain and complementary enterprises by 2030. The program targets 430,000 young women aged 16 – 35, with at least 300,000 transitioning into dignified and fulfilling work across agribusiness and complementary value chains.
Job Summary: The Senior trainer of Trainer is responsible for building the capacity of Trainers of Trainers (ToTs) and ensuring the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of the training delivered under the EYE-C Program, and will be field- based.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and facilitate standardized Training of Trainers (ToT) sessions.
- Strengthen ToTs’ technical knowledge in the coffee value chain and complementary enterprises, as well as skills in entrepreneurship and gender-responsive training approaches.
- Ensure adherence to training standards and guidelines by assessing ToTs prior to rollout and maintaining consistency in training delivery.
- Provide ongoing mentorship, coaching, and technical support to ToTs throughout the training cycle.
- Conduct assessments of ToTs and support the implementation of participant assessment frameworks aligned with certification requirements.
- Monitor ToT performance during training delivery, provide feedback, and support continuous improvement.
- Provide technical backstopping to ToTs during delivery of the trainings.
- Review training reports submitted by ToTs, identify gaps, and provide corrective guidance to maintain quality standards.
- Support the effective use and adaptation of approved training materials by ToTs.
- Support certification pathways by ensuring training and assessments meet required standards.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural related studies
- Diploma in instructorship and technical teacher education (DITTE) is mandatory.
- Ability to design and implement gender-responsive training approaches.
- At least 5years proven experience in the agriculture sector with focus on at least the coffee value chains
- At least 5years in training delivery, skills development and capacity building.
- Proven experience in working with community-based youth programs.
- Good report writing skills with strong expertise in Micro-Soft Packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint e.t.c)
- Strong leadership and mentorship ability, Excellent communication and facilitation skills, Strategic thinking and problem-solving, High level of professionalism and integrity, Cultural sensitivity and ability to work with youth trainers, Strong organizational and planning skills.
