Job Summary: The Administrative Intern will support the UNODC Programme Office in Uganda in providing administrative and operational assistance to ensure the effective implementation of programme activities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: Under the overall supervision of the Head of Office, and in close technical collaboration with UNODC programme staff, and consultants within the UNODC Regional Office, the intern will be responsible for the following tasks
- Substantive Operations and administrative Support:
- Assist in providing administrative and logistical support for programme implementation.
- Support the preparation of administrative documents, correspondence, and official communications.
- Assist in maintaining filing systems and programme documentation in accordance with UNODC administrative procedures.
- Support travel arrangements including preparation of travel documentation and related administrative processes.
- Provide support in tracking administrative actions related to programme activities.
- Assist in preparing basic reports and documentation required for programme implementation.
- Support coordination between programme and operations teams when required.
- Event and Logistics Support:
- Assist in the organization and coordination of meetings, workshops, training sessions, and consultations.
- Support logistical arrangements including venue coordination, documentation preparation, and participant communication.
- Assist in preparing meeting minutes and summaries.
- General Office Support:
- Assist in managing office records, files, and documentation.
- Provide general administrative support to the programme team.
- Perform any other related
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have recently completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have recently completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
- Applicants must have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Teams. – Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter; and – Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which includes willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.

- Languages
- English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship. Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage. Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish are the official languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
