Job Summary: The Procurement and Logistics Coordinator responsibilities are rooted in coordinating both materials transport and office supplies as well other tasks assigned.
In close coordination with Bridges to Prosperity’s procurement manager, the Procurement and Logistics Coordinator interfaces with suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure the success of each project.
He/She will spend much of their time in the B2P office and will have some field work when necessary. The Procurement and Logistics Coordinator will report to the Country Director
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- In collaboration with the procurement manager, perform all the procurement and logistics for non-site materials
- Receive the Requisition forms from user departments and make the Purchases for office stationeries, refreshment, Personal protective equipment (Safety boats, overall etc…)
- Work with the office Administrator in Coordinating the procurement for events: meetings, social events, and employee team building activities or special projects as well as training.
- Oversee the transportation of materials to sites from Kigali to sites and sites to Kigali
- Ensure timely and safe delivery of materials and equipment to each project site
- Work with the procurement and finance to ensure the BvAs are recorded in salesforce in a timely manner
- Oversee the filing of procurement documents, original EBMs, DNs and POs to be filled by finance.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by management or supervisors
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- BA/Sc in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Procurement or other relevant fields.
- Proven track record of at least 3 years’ experience in logistics or procurement
- Exceptional, professional and details-oriented-organizational skills
- Driver’s License will be required
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including experience in Visual Basic Application programming is a bonus
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to work independently after given clear direction
- Self-motivated and energetic
Working conditions
- The position is based in Kampala, Uganda but may require periodic travel to different regions in Uganda where our sites might be located for field visits.
Physical requirements
- The position is office based but may require periodic travel, to field.
