Job Title: Assistant Registrar – Legal and Compliance

About Organisation:
The Surveyors’ Registration Board (SRB) of Uganda is a body corporate,
established under Chapter 275, of the Surveyors Registration Act 1974. The major
function of the board is to regulate and control the profession of surveyors
and the activities of registered surveyors within Uganda, and to advise the
Government in relation to those functions.
Job Summary: To provide legal advisory services and support the Board in ensuring compliance with the Surveyors Registration Act, applicable regulations, professional standards, and ethical guidelines, including oversight of complaints, investigations, and disciplinary processes.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate will provide legal and regulatory advice to the Board and its Committees;
- Monitor compliance of registered surveyors with statutory and ethical requirements;
- Manage complaints, investigations, and disciplinary proceedings;
- Support enforcement of regulatory decisions;
- Prepare legal, compliance, and investigation reports;
- Support Board and Committee meetings; and engage stakeholders on compliance and ethical standards.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Applicants should possess a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized institution, a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre, and be enrolled as an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda.
- Applicants must have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in legal practice in Uganda.
- Registration as a Surveyor in any field of surveying shall be an added advantage.
