Job Summary: The objective of the Graduate in Training Programme is to expose the beneficiaries of the program to practice and on-the-job training in operations and maintenance of hydro power assets.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of solar PV systems, inverters, batteries, and related components.
- Support routine inspection, servicing, and maintenance of renewable energy systems.
- Assist in site surveys and basic system design under supervision.
- Help with documentation including project reports, checklists, and system performance logs.
- Follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Participate actively in training sessions, workshops, and on-the-job learning.
- Stay updated on emerging renewable energy technologies and best practices.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems and renewable energy concepts.
- Willingness to learn and work in both office and field environments.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic knowledge of solar PV systems and energy storage solutions.
- Ability to read basic electrical diagrams is an added advantage.
- Computer literacy (MS Office or similar tools).
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good time management skills.
Barriers to Success in Role
- Lack of willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and work methods.
- Unreliability, absenteeism, or poor work ethic.
