About Organisation:
Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC) was established under the Petroleum (Exploration, Development and Production) Act and the Petroleum (Refining, Conversion, Transmission and Midstream storage) Act, both of 2013 and incorporated under the Companies’ Act, 2012. It is a limited liability company wholly owned by the Government of Uganda. The overall function of UNOC is to handle the State’s commercial interests in the Oil and Gas industry and ensure that the resource is exploited in a sustainable manner.
Job Summary: responsible for maintaining sound integrity of terminal electrical equipment and installations in line with good maintenance practises, standards, and procedures.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in the development and implementation of the maintenance plan for all terminal equipment, installations and structures in line with condition, maintenance and operation manuals, and best industry practices.
- Perform conditional monitoring and inspection of electrical equipment, installations and structures.
- Participate in assessment and troubleshooting for equipment faults, prepare assessment report and repair/replace requirements.
- Attend equipment malfunctioning and break downs to restore operations in shortest possible time.
- Monitor contractors under specialized maintenance contracts and prepare performance reports to Maintenance and HSE Officer.
- Initiate the ordering and verification of delivered spares parts, equipment, and maintenance consumables.
- Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor(s).
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- An Ordinary Diploma in Electrical Engineering, or any other relevant closely related diploma from a recognised training Institute
- Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience in electrical works from large and reputable manufacturing companies, construction or factory settings or machinery workshops.
- Experience in operations and maintenance of petroleum products terminal/depot equipment is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety protocols in Depot Operations is Petroleum Product Terminals/Depots is an added advantage
- Proficiency in MS Office [MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Outlook].
