Job Title: Quality Assurance Officer

Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
About Organisation:
Spiro is a leading provider of electric two-wheelers in Africa. The company’s headquarters are in Benin and has operations in Togo, Uganda, and Rwanda. Spiro offers two models of electric motorbikes and is preparing new versions, always adapted to the African market.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead incoming quality inspections, sampling, and rejection management.
- Oversee process quality, process optimization, and defect prevention initiatives.
- Drive Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement programs.
- Monitor quality metrics and lead root-cause analysis & corrective actions.
- Manage, mentor, and develop the QA team.
- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and R&D to resolve quality issues.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and EV quality standards.
- Support internal/external audits and manage quality documentation.
- Lead quality strategy, cost-of-quality reduction, and efficiency improvement initiatives.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Automotive/Industrial/Electrical Engineering (Master’s a plus).
- 12+ years’ experience in automotive/EV/manufacturing quality, including 3–5 years in management.
- Strong knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, Lean, Six Sigma, and SPC.
- Experience in supplier quality, incoming inspection, and rejection handling.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Preferred: Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt), Lean, or Quality Auditor certification.
