About Organisation:
The Electoral Commission, which is established under Article 60 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda and mandated to conduct public elections and referenda professionally, impartially and efficiently. It was set up under Article 60 to 67 of the 1995 Constitution of the Republic of Uganda.
Job Summary: To assist in conducting the four (4) categories of elections below, on polling day.
- President and Members of Parliament (Directly-elected MP and District Woman Representative to Parliament)
- District/City Chairpersons, Lord Mayor and Councillors
- Municipality/City Division Chairpersons and Councillors
- Sub County/Town/Municipal Division Chairpersons and Councillors
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reports to the Parish Supervisor (the immediate supervisor);Job board platform
- Overall management of the polling station;
- Supervision of polling station staff;
- Receipt, issuance, accountability and safe custody of election materials;
- Ensuring proper filling of election forms;
- Submission of election returns to the Returning Officer;
- Ensuring peace and security at the polling station;
- Keeping records of the proceedings at the polling station;
- Mobilizing furniture to facilitate the polling process;
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Possession of Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) or its equivalent.
- Should be a person of high moral character and proven integrity;
- Preferably a resident of the area where the polling station is located;
- Must be a registered voter.
- Experience in elections related work will be an added advantage.
- Age limit: 18 years and above.
