Job Title: Polling Assistant – 137376 Positions

About Organisation:
The Electoral Commission, which is established under Article 60 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda and mandated to conduct public elections and referenda professionally, impartially and efficiently. It was set up under Article 60 to 67 of the 1995 Constitution of the Republic of Uganda.
Job Summary: To assist in conducting the following four (4) categories of elections, on polling day:
- President and Members of Parliament (Directly-elected MP and District Woman Representative to Parliament)
- District/City Chairpersons/Lord Mayor and Councillors
- Municipality/City Division Chairpersons and Councillors
- Sub County/Town/Municipal Division Chairpersons and Councillors
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reports to the Presiding Officer;
- Verification of voters using the Bio-metric Voter Verification Kit and hard copy of the Voters Register;
- Issuance of ballot papers to the voters;
- Marking/dipping the finger of a voter after casting the ballot;
- Assisting the Presiding Officer to fill election forms at the start and closure of polling;
- Assisting the Presiding Officer in management of the polling station;
- Any other duties as assigned;
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Possession of Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or its equivalent.
- Should be a person of high moral character and proven integrity.
- Preferably a resident of the area where the polling station is located;
- Must be a registered voter.
- Experience in elections related work will be an added advantage.
- Age limit: 18 years and above
