About Organisation:
Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) is the legal entity, established by the Ugandan Parliament that is responsible for the operations of the capital city of Kampala in Uganda. It replaced the Kampala City Council.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- The incumbent will be responsible to the Deputy Director Buildings and Development for performing the following duties:-
- Liaising with all stakeholders to identify design needs of the Authority and produce design specifications that meet client needs of the Authority;
- Planning and designing the City’s physical infrastructure including re-zoning, land sub division of the City and preparing guidelines and coordinating implementation of the Master Plans for the City;
- Preparing guidelines and coordinating implementation of the Master Plans for the City;
- Managing performance and development of staff in the Directorate;
- Managing and coordinating the activities and programs of the Authority’s Development Partners;
- Providing technical and professional advice on the requirement of public infrastructure facilities and preparing physical development plans;
- Developing strategies and implementing City zoning and utilization plans;
- Monitoring adherence to construction standards in the City;
- Preparing terms of reference for development plans, monitoring preparation of City settlements development plans and detailed layout plans;
- Developing strategies to ensure that implementation of the legal provisions and policy instruments relating to development control conform to the approved plans;
- Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time;
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture; or Architectural Engineering; or Building Design plus a Masters Degree in any of the above fields from a recognized University / Institution. Applicants must be registered with the relevant professional body.
- Working Experience
- Applicants should have a minimum of seven (7) years relevant working experience in Architectural Services, three (3) of which must have been gained at Principal or Middle Management level in Government or equivalent level of relevant experience from a reputable organization.
