Job Summary: Conduct detailed financial analysis and reporting to support investment decisions and performance monitoring. The Financial Analyst ensures the organization’s investments align with the organization’s policies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Analysis of Prospective Investments
- Assist in analysing the financial aspects and data of various investments.
- Support the assessment of financial status and projections provided by potential investee companies.
- Develop financial projections and interpret results to evaluate potential investments.
- Contribute to the preparation of preliminary review reports on proposals submitted to the corporation.
- Support the identification and analysis of financial risks in investment projects, ensuring that risks are mitigated.
Financial Performance of Existing Investments
- Aid in analysing financial data and statements of investee companies to assess their performance.
- Perform ratio analysis to support decision-making processes.
- Assist in identifying strategies to enhance the performance of investee companies.
- Feasibility studies, Due Diligence, Investment Appraisal, Valuation, and Structuring
- Review business plans and financial models to validate assumptions and projections related to new investment opportunities.
- Assist in reviewing valuation models for accuracy and completeness.
- Contribute to evaluating structuring options for investments.
Reporting
- Help create standard reports to improve productivity and institutional processes.
- Participate in Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) activities and provide input into M&E reports as needed.
- Assist in generating reports related to investment outcomes and contribute to improvement initiatives.
Contract and Project Management
- Assist in the coordination with consultants and collaborating with promoters.
- Monitor the timely payment of consultants and report any issues to the supervisor.
- As guided by your supervisors, collaborate with and support the BDS Unit, Appraisal, Implementation and Post Implementation Departments, Legal and Finance, and other Directorates to ensure the effective project development, appraisal and successful implementation and post-implementation of projects.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration or related field
- Level two of any of the following; Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) or at least one completed level of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) will be an added advantage

- Four (4) years of experience in a similar role.
Knowledge, skills and competences
- Ability to analyse and interpret financial data accurately
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong report-writing skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with different departments and teams.
