Job Summary: Design and build digital solutions, APIs, and custom applications to connect core systems, streamline workflows, and enable new digital services across the organization.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain APIs, integration services, and microservices between core systems (ERP, HIS, LIMS, CRM, HR, portals, mobile apps, etc.).
- Build custom web/mobile applications (e.g. portals, workflow tools, internal apps) using approved platforms (.NET, JavaScript frameworks, Power Platform, etc.).
- Work with business stakeholders to understand process pain points and translate them into technical solutions and prototypes.
- Implement and maintain integration patterns (REST, SOAP, message queues, ETL, API gateways) following architecture and security standards.
- Develop automation and workflow solutions (Power Automate, RPA, scripts) to reduce manual work and errors.
- Ensure integration reliability, resiliency, performance, and proper error handling/logging.
- Maintain API and integration documentation, including data flow diagrams, interface contracts, and runbooks.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure/Security to ensure secure connectivity, authentication, encryption, and access controls.
- Support testing cycles (unit, integration, UAT) and fix defects promptly.
- Monitor production integrations and applications, proactively addressing incidents and performance issues.
- Contribute to design standards, coding guidelines, and reusable components for digital solutions.
- Provide technical input into the digital roadmap and advise on feasibility and effort estimates.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- 3-5+ years’ experience in back end/API development and system integrations
- Strong skills in one or more modern languages/frameworks (.NET/C#, Node.js, Python, Java, etc.).
- Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, XML, OAuth2/OpenID Connect, and API gateways.
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and integration services (Logic Apps, Functions, ESB, queues).
- Knowledge of relational databases and SQL; ETL/ELT tools experience is an advantage.
- Familiarity with low-code platforms (Power Apps, Power Automate) is an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of secure coding practices and integration security.
- Experience with Git and DevOps/CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
