Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- To support in maintaining stability, availability and reliability of services and applications by facilitating various Service Management processes and associated activities. Responsible for ensuring that all existing and any new channels are working properly as per specification, provides prompt and professional developer support for the channels, services and processes they support.
- End to End development of required in-house applications that can enhance channel productivity, stability and improve processes. Provision of second level support to end-users for channels faults referred from the Help desk
- Producing clean, efficient code based on specifications, Testing and deploying programs and systems, and fixing and improving existing channels software.
- Responsible for coordinating business support in-country, resolving business related significant issues to achieve the stated business objectives.

- Adheres to bank Group Engineering standards and procedures in performing duties.
- Work with developers to support, design, develop customer facing applications. Integrate software components and third-party programs. Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing software
- Coordinate with all stakeholders in the Bank; Finance, Credit, Business [PBB/CIB], branches, Operations and its other support functions [BFC, IBC, GMO] as well as the regulatory Authority [Bank Of Uganda [BOU]] to ensure smooth operation of peripheral interfaces.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Unix & Windows operating systems
- Database Management and SQL
- Understanding of the Bank’s systems, processes, procedures, and data.
- Understanding the basics of team dynamics and participation in developing and maintaining a team culture. Familiarity with Agile development methodologies is added advantage.
- Knowledge of coding languages (e.g., C#, Java, JavaScript, PHP, Python,)
- Experience with databases (MySQL, Oracle, MSSQL, PostgresDB) and Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) frameworks
