Job Title: Communications Associate

Kinua Foundation is a Uganda-based NGO committed to ending cycles of poverty, especially by empowering women to build sustainable livelihoods and create lasting change in their communities.
Job Summary: We are looking for a passionate and creative Communications Associate to join our team and help amplify our impact.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Capture high quality photos and videos that tell powerful stories about our work.
- Produce short documentaries, interviews, and social media video content.
- Manage and grow the organisation’s social media platforms.
- Draft engaging content for online campaigns, newsletters, and reports.
- Support media relations, press engagements, and brand visibility activities.
- Maintain a digital archive of media assets.
- Support event documentation and communications planning.
- Contribute to PR initiatives that build trust and visibility for Kinua Foundation.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A diploma or degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Multimedia Production, or a related field.
- At least 1–2 years of relevant experience in communications or media production.
- Experience working with non governmental organisations(NGOs) and community based organisations(CBOs) is an added advantage.
- The candidate should have a strong understanding of child protection principles, since our NGO works closely with children and prioritises their safety and well-being in all programmes and communications.
Core Competencies
- Strong storytelling ability across video, photo, and written formats.
- Proficiency in videography and photography, including editing software.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Social media management expertise, including analytics and content strategy.
- Creativity, attention to detail, and an eye for compelling visuals.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Commitment to gender equality and community empowerment.
- Basic knowledge of branding and PR is an added advantage.
