Job Summary: Alexander Lloyd Senior Search are partnering with a high-growth, internationally backed organisation to appoint a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the finance function through a pivotal phase of scale-up and IPO readiness.

This is a board-level appointment, based in Uganda, with responsibility for financial strategy, governance, capital structure, and stakeholder management as the business prepares for a potential IPO or strategic transaction.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the Board and investors, the CFO will:

  • Lead the business through IPO preparation and execution, including governance, controls, reporting and investor readiness.
  • Own end-to-end financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
  • Build and maintain robust financial controls, reporting and compliance frameworks aligned to public-company standards.
  • Oversee treasury, cash management, tax, audit and risk management.
  • Lead investor relations, working with banks, advisers, regulators and external stakeholders.
  • Partner with the CEO to drive commercial decision-making and performance improvement.
  • Build, develop and lead a high-performing finance team in Uganda.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:




  • Proven CFO within a high-growth or complex organisation.
  • Direct experience of taking a company through an IPO (essential), including pre-IPO readiness.
  • Strong technical grounding in IFRS, governance, and financial controls.
  • Experience operating in emerging markets or Africa strongly preferred.
  • Commercial, strategic leader with strong board-level presence and stakeholder management skills.
  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent).
