Job Summary: Alexander Lloyd Senior Search are partnering with a high-growth Mobile Network Operator to appoint a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the organisation through its next phase of expansion and IPO readiness.

This is a pivotal board-level role, based in Uganda, with full accountability for strategy, operational performance, regulatory engagement, and shareholder value creation as the business prepares for a potential public listing.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: Reporting to the Group Board, the CEO will:

  • Set and execute the overall corporate strategy aligned to IPO preparation.
  • Lead the day-to-day operations of a national mobile network operator.
  • Drive revenue growth, network expansion, and market share in a competitive telecoms environment.
  • Partner closely with the CFO and executive team to deliver public-company governance, controls, and reporting standards.
  • Lead relationships with regulators, government bodies, investors, and advisers.
  • Build and develop a high-performing executive leadership team.
  • Represent the organisation externally with credibility across African and international markets.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:




  • Proven CEO or Managing Director experience within a Mobile Network Operator.
  • Extensive experience operating in African telecoms markets (essential).
  • Deep understanding of MNO operations, including network, commercial, regulatory, and customer environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading organisations through significant growth, transformation, or IPO preparation.
  • Strong board presence with the ability to engage investors, regulators, and stakeholders.
  • Commercially astute, resilient leader with strong execution capability.
