Job Summary: Our client in the Transport and Logistics sector is seeking a proactive and results-driven Business Development Officer to drive business growth, identify new opportunities, maintain strong client relationships, and support the company’s overall sales and marketing strategy. The ideal candidate should have 2–3 years of experience in Business Development, Sales, and Marketing, with a strong understanding of market dynamics and customer positioning.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the company’s market share in the transport and logistics sector.
- Conduct market research to identify trends, competitive positioning, and customer needs.
- Develop and present proposals, quotations, and pitches to prospective clients.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients to enhance customer retention and business growth.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop strategies to meet sales targets and service delivery expectations.
- Prepare periodic sales reports, forecasts, and performance analyses.
- Assist in planning and executing marketing campaigns, promotional activities, and brand-building initiatives.
- Attend industry events, exhibitions, and meetings to build networks and identify opportunities.
- Ensure timely follow-up on leads and enquiries to convert them into active business.
- Contribute to strategy development and continuous improvement in business development processes.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a Business-related field (Business Administration, Marketing, Commerce, Procurement, or related discipline).
- 2 to 3 years of proven experience in Business Development, Sales, or Marketing.
- Experience in the Transport and Logistics sector is an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of sales pipelines and business development strategies.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with clients.
- Proficient in MS Office applications and CRM tools.
- High level of initiative, self-motivation, and goal orientation.
