Job Summary: The job holder is responsible for repairing and maintaining machinery within the section/area of ownership to ensure safety, quality, and high Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) and availability within budget.
Relationships
Technical Operator and Shift Manager – Avail and ensure AMs are effectively executed, raised technical issues resolved and root cause problem solving done.
Asset Care Engineer, seek for both technical (skills, tools, spares, and additional manpower) and non-technical guidance to resolve all arising engineering issues.
Purpose of Role
To provide hands on engineering solutions to support production teams to produce product at customer service levels, quality conformance, and within budget
To develop and/or adhere to machine maintenance methods and standards to optimize asset availability and performance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Health & Safety
- Fully support and comply with UBL/Diageo H&S policies; PPEs, Permits and risk assessments.
- Document all unsafe conditions and practices (SIRC) to drive continuous improvement and positive safety culture.
- Resolve, modify and or eliminate and report unsafe safety conditions and/or practices within the section/areas of ownership.
Interrelationship
- Develop positive straight-talking relationships with all team members, peers, colleagues, and wider site team.
- Acting, as and when required, as Asset Care Planner/Scheduler in their absence.
Operation
- Machine Inspections and Lubrication
- Conducting and/or driving 5S activities
- Closing area SIRCS and raising SIRCS in any other areas
- AMs distribution, supervision for execution and reviews/creation
- ZPMS execution and reviews/creation and SAP closer
- ZPMR execution and SAP closer
- SIC audits and process book sign offs.
- Spares validation, restocking and control.
- Conducting scheduled control system backups and keeping an updated version ready for plug and play
- Conducting condition monitoring and follow up on action closure.
- Driving RCPS and follow up on action closure to drive RCPS density scores.
- Development of safety procedure (LOTO, Tasked Base Risk Assessment, Guarding etc.)
- Developing OPLs and SOPs
- CI identification and execution
- Users, Operators and Stakeholder trainings
- Organizing and availing of technical and user manuals and notes
- Closing Identified ITF, RCPS, CI, RCM, and risk assessment actions.
- Conducting RCM and FMECA (Failure Mode Effect and Criticality Analysis).
- Cost and downtime analysis (Waterfall, Pareto, MTBF, MTTR etc.)
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Diploma or an equivalent in Engineering
Technical
- Minimum of 2 years’ hands on experience in maintenance
- Knowledge of SAP CMMS, environment, H+S, and quality system
- Knowledge of world class manufacturing techniques & standards such as 5S, TIPS and DMAIC.
- Structured problem evaluation & solving skills using relevant problem-solving tools and techniques IPS and RCPS.
- Teamwork ·
- High interpersonal effectiveness to develop & sustain robust relationships.
- Experience of working in a multi-functional team.
- Communication –written and verbal.
- Ability to prepare precise, concise, accurate and well-presented documents, with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent verbal skills, with an ability to explain complex technical information in clear and simple terms.
- Shift Pattern
- The job holder should be able and flexible to work both general (8 -10 hours) and shift (12 hours).
- The holder should have practiced engineering competency in a busy manufacturing set up preferably and FMCG (should be self-driven with speed and accuracy)
- The holder must be computer literate to cope with CMMS (SAP)
