Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Help producers/ farmers to use their land more effectively and suggest methods to increase yield.
- Create strategies in strengthening crop production and crop management
- Study, assess and evaluate soil chemistry by testing soil of various fields
- Initiate latest techniques of soil management processes
- Counsel and educate producer department staff and site coordinators on latest farming techniques
- Train, develop and motivate agricultural staff both in producer department and commercial farm
- Organize own work plan to spend time effectively and efficiently to meet the company’s business objective
- Assist the extension service manager to prepare and implement annual budget for the agricultural programme
- Monitor the performance of works in the collection, transport to storage and storage of the harvested crop.
- Develop and implement technology to combat pests, plant diseases and weeds.
- Appraise the performance of extension coordinators
- Perform any other duties assigned Extension service manager.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture or a related discipline
- 3 years’ experience in related field
