Job Summary: The Senior Technical Sales Representative will be responsible for driving sales growth, building strong customer relationships, and expanding market share for the company’s animal feed products. This role requires a proactive individual with deep knowledge of livestock industry and animal nutrition, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to manage key accounts and leadership skills.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Sales & Business Development
- Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Acquire new potential accounts and analyse client needs and commercial opportunities in line with the account/sales plan.
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers, including farmers, and distributors.
- Conduct market research to understand customer needs, competitor activities, and industry trends.
Account Management
- Develop and implement a relationship management plan for potential customer accounts to identify and build relationships with relevant decision-makers and influencers within the customer organisation, and to enable effective two-way flow of information and resolution of issues.
- Manage key accounts and ensure timely delivery of products and services.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and provide solutions promptly.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and payment terms with clients.
- Frequently visit farmers and give technical advice to ensure farm efficiency and productivity with our feed’s solutions.
Marketing & Promotion
- Collaborate with the marketing team to execute promotional campaigns and product launches.
- Represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions, and industry events.
- Conduct farmers’ trainings that are organized by the company and or its distributors / agents.
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and submit accurate sales reports and forecasts to management.
- Analyze sales data to identify performance gaps and recommend corrective actions.
Team Support
- Mentor and guide junior sales representatives to achieve team objectives.
- Share best practices and provide training on product knowledge and sales techniques.
- Keep up to date with and follow Koudijs’ policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
- Monitor and address any noncompliance within the team, taking action or escalating when necessary.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Animal production, Veterinary science or a related field. Posses additional training in business administration and or marketing.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in sales, preferably in the animal feed industry.
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
- Strong knowledge of livestock farming and feed products.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software.
