About Organisation:
Uganda Cancer Institute (UCI) is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Health, established by the Uganda Cancer Institute Act, 2016. The Act mandates the Institute to manage and coordinate cancer care and cancer-related conditions across the country. UCI’s core functions include cancer treatment, prevention, research, and training in fields such as Oncology, Pediatrics, Gynecology, Radiotherapy, Surgery, Imaging and Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, and other related specialties.
Job Summary: To ensure the manufacture and dispensing of Radiopharmaceuticals in compliance with GMP guidelines.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: The incumbent will be responsible to consultant Radio Pharmacist for performing the following duties: –
- Preparing the synthesis and dispensing modules;
- Preparing reagents and loading modules in readiness for FDG synthesis and subsequent dispensing;
- Carrying out routine synthesis of FDG; and Maintaining FDG synthesis equipment;
- Preparing sterile vials, stoppers and essential glassware;
- Performing all production related functions in compliance with standard operating procedures and aseptic methodology;
- Maintaining production documents;
- Ordering, stocking, and maintaining inventory of production supplies;
- Preparing and updating SOPs and pertinent GMP documents;
- Participating in training programmes.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A Bachelors’ Degree in Pharmacy from a recognized Institution.
- Should have a Master’s degree in Radiochemistry and PET radiopharmaceuticals. (Msc. RadPET)
- Training and experience in aseptic technology and GMP practices is essential for conforming to required quality specifications.
- Registration with PSU
