Job Title: Scouter (Agriculture Certificate Jobs)

Xclusive Uganda is a group of Horticulture companies consists of 3 companies: Xclusive Young Plants, Xclusive Kalanchoe and Xclusive Chrysanthemum. Our total production area is about 11 hectares, and we work together with 550 colleagues.
Job Summary: To support the crop protection and production teams by identifying pest infestations, disease symptoms, and plant variety mixtures in the greenhouses. The Scouter ensures early detection and accurate reporting of field issues to maintain high crop quality, minimize losses, and promote timely pest management actions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identifying mixtures of different varieties on beds.
- Mark spots identifying with insect pest.
- Ensure that all the identified pest spots are well marked with a well labelled nameplate.
- Random checking of the beds under plastic for dropouts.
- Identification of strange plants in greenhouses.
- Cross checking the marked spots when harvesting team is doing harvest.
- Ensure that all the pest monitoring trap cards in the Green houses are counted properly.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Possession of a Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) or its equivalent, with at least a Grade C in Agriculture.
- Practical experience in scouting or pest identification, obtained through work or training, will be an added advantage.
- Ability to demonstrate attentiveness, cooperation, flexibility, accuracy, and adherence to instructions.
- Strong written and oral communication skills in the English language.
