Job Title: SCM Procurement Officer – Maize & Cassava

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Procurement & Sourcing:
- Lead procurement activities for maize and cassava across Uganda and Tanzania.
- Identify and onboard reliable suppliers and farmer cooperatives.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms to ensure cost-effective sourcing.
Supply Chain Management:
- Coordinate logistics and inventory planning to ensure timely delivery and stock availability.
- Monitor market trends and seasonal variations to optimize procurement strategies.
- Collaborate with warehousing and transport teams for efficient supply chain operations.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local suppliers, farmers.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and quality standards.
- Conduct supplier audits and performance evaluations.
Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare procurement reports, cost analysis, and forecasts.
- Track KPIs related to procurement efficiency, cost savings, and supplier performance.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with finance, operations, and quality assurance teams.
- Roles & Responsibilities:
- Support strategic initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement in procurement processes.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Experience Required: 5–10 years in agricultural procurement, preferably in maize and cassava
- Preferred Candidate : East African region, with a strong preference for Uganda
Salary Range: $1500 – $2000 USD/month
