Job Summary: Wetlands International is seeking a Project Intern to support the implementation of the Rwizi Catchment Resilient Project in Southwestern Uganda. The Lower Rwizi Catchment hosts key wetland and grassland ecosystems that are essential for biodiversity, water resources, and community livelihoods.
The intern will work closely with the Project Officer to support field activities, stakeholder mobilisation, documentation, monitoring, and overall project coordination across the Lower Rwizi Catchment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support logistics for project activities and community engagement
- Assist with field data collection, monitoring, and reporting
- Track agreed programme action points
- Document meetings, workshops, and field outcomes
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environment, Natural Resource Management, Forestry, Water Resources, Conservation Biology, or related field
- Minimum 6 months’ experience in project implementation (NGO, consultancy, district government, or development sector)
- Willingness to travel and work in remote areas
- Strong communication, organisational, and analytical skills
- Proficiency in MS Office; Luganda is an added advantage
