Job Title: Production Manager
Organisation: Agro Processing Plant
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for Direct management and leadership of the Production department, by developing Production plans and ensure smooth efficient manufacturing processes.
- Monitor product quality and ensure safety standards adherence by conducting regular audits and implementing corrective actions.
- Coordinate the activities of production staff, including assigning tasks, providing guidance and ensuring compliance with company policies and production S.O.Ps.
- Ensure that production equipment is properly maintained.
- Address production issues or bottlenecks and implement solutions to keep the production line running as per Production schedule.
- Prepare accurate and reliable records and reports of production data including production rates and quality metrics.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and waste reduction.
- Participate in budgeting process and monitor production costs.
- Manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods.
- Obtaining manufacturer’s specification and developing weekly monthly and annual inspection and maintenance programs for all production machines.
- Ensuring Production equipment preventive maintenance schedule is followed and updated.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field is required.
- Mechanical Engineering back ground preferred.
- 5+years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with a proven track record in a leadership role.
- Computer skills, including Word, Excel, and any ERP
