Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation -Uganda (Baylor-Uganda) is an indigenous not-for-profit child health and development organisation affiliated to the Baylor College of Medicine International Paediatric AIDS Initiative (BIPAI), a Network of paediatric HIV/AIDS care and treatment Children’s Clinical Centres of Excellence and international program offices in 11 countries across Africa and Eastern Europe.
Job Summary: The Finance Manager will ensure effective budgeting processes, budget monitoring and smooth running of the Accounts Receivables function as well as reporting in line with Baylor policy and specific donor requirements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Developing project budgets as per Baylor Uganda Financial year, by cost category and by programme area.
- Prepare Budget monitoring reports on a monthly basis and share the same with respective budget holders and proactive prevention of variances by providing advice of best course of action.
- Ensuring timely submission of All Donor reports and other information requirements as stipulated in respective Donor agreements(monthly and quarterly financial reports like expenditure and VAT reports for the Director approval).
- Ensuring Compliance with all Grant agreement terms and conditions and regular continuous dissemination of all compliance specifics to respective parties.
- Ensuring availability of funds at all times, through preparing project cash forecast, including draw down from the PMS and reporting on the same where applicable.
- Monitoring of all Overheads recovered and Other Income generated.
- Supporting the line director in preparation of Reports to Senior Management on a monthly basis.
- Other duties as may be required of a Finance manager – such as review of LPOs and Payment vouchers, Posting of PVs and JVs and other support that may be required from time to time.
- Review and submit monthly project management accounts
- Develop and monitor a departmental project risk register, follow up and ensure all audit issues raised are closed.
- Schedule Technical support supervision visits to cluster offices and perform internal control reviews, mentoring and trainings in identified gaps.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Accounting or Finance and membership to professional organizations i.e. ACCA & CPA (U).
- A master’s degree in business administration (MBA).
- Over 5 years’ working experience with at least 2 years’ experience at a senior level in the Finance department of a reputable Non-Governmental Organization.
- Knowledge of Finance & Accounting packages like Navision.
- 5 Years Relevant Experience
