Job Summary: The Digital Marketing Operations Manager will oversee and coordinate all marketing and operational efforts across the company’s digital ecosystem.
This role requires a strategic thinker who is also a hands-on executor — someone capable of leading teams, managing campaigns, optimizing performance, and building long-term partnerships.
You will play a key role in aligning business objectives with marketing strategy, ensuring that every campaign directly contributes to measurable growth.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Marketing Strategy & Execution
- Plan and execute multi-channel digital marketing campaigns (SEO, SEM, email, social media, influencer, and affiliate).
- Manage and optimize paid advertising campaigns on Meta, Google, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
- Develop and manage content calendars for blogs, social media, and email newsletters.
- Build marketing funnels, landing pages, and performance dashboards for lead generation and conversion tracking.
- Continuously analyze campaign data to optimize ROI and customer acquisition costs.
Brand, PR & Partnerships
- Develop and maintain partnerships with influencers, media outlets, and affiliate partners.
- Plan PR campaigns, digital activations, and events to increase brand visibility and engagement.
- Manage media buying and ensure all marketing materials align with company values and regional compliance standards.
- Lead partnership initiatives across East and West Africa, negotiating collaboration terms with agencies, vendors, and content creators.
Team Leadership & Operations
- Supervise a multidisciplinary team (content creators, designers, performance marketers, analysts, and community managers).
- Implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and reporting systems to improve workflow efficiency.
- Coordinate daily operations between marketing, tech, and business development teams.
- Ensure projects and campaigns are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with company KPIs.
- Provide mentorship, training, and clear performance goals for team members.
Analytics, Budget & Reporting
- Define KPIs and track marketing ROI, CAC, LTV, CTR, CPC, and engagement metrics.
- Manage and allocate marketing budgets efficiently to ensure maximum returns on ad spend (ROAS).
- Use tools such as Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, SEMrush, Ahrefs, and HubSpot (or similar CRMs).
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports for executive review, with actionable insights and recommendations.
Product Growth & Monetization
- Lead initiatives for user acquisition, retention, and conversion optimization.
- Oversee growth experiments, campaign funnels, and A/B testing for performance improvement.
- Support monetization strategies for digital products, memberships, and affiliate programs.
- Collaborate with business development teams to design campaigns that drive revenue and user engagement.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- 4–7+ years in digital marketing or operations management for tech startups, SaaS, or e-commerce platforms.
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Business, or Computer Science.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Google Ads, Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, SEO/SEM (SEMrush, Ahrefs), and data analytics.
- Project Management
- Experienced in Notion, Trello, or Asana for campaign and workflow management.
- Creative Oversight
- Familiarity with Canva, Figma, or Adobe Suite for creative direction and approvals.
- Communication
- Fluent in English and Kinyarwanda (spoken and written); Luganda or Swahili is an added advantage.
- Regional Understanding
- Deep knowledge of East African markets in particular and global in general, digital behavior, and cultural dynamics.
- Work Environment & Flexibility
