About Organisation:
Uganda Cancer Institute (UCI) is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Health, established by the Uganda Cancer Institute Act, 2016. The Act mandates the Institute to manage and coordinate cancer care and cancer-related conditions across the country. UCI’s core functions include cancer treatment, prevention, research, and training in fields such as Oncology, Pediatrics, Gynecology, Radiotherapy, Surgery, Imaging and Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, and other related specialties.
Job Summary: To provide comprehensive and highest quality Radiology Imaging
Key Duties and Responsibilities: The incumbent will be responsible to Consultant Oncologist Imaging for performing the following duties:
- Responsible for ensuring efficient management of services in his/her specialization at the Institute.
- Supervise and mentor Senior House Officers, Medical Officers, Interns and other Health Professionals under him/her.
- Plan and coordinate training programmes of Health Professionals under him/her.
- Plan and coordinate Continuous Professional Development (CPD) in his/her specialty, for Health professionals at the Institute.
- Provide technical and professional advice in his/her area of specialization to Government and the Institute.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- MBChB Degree or its equivalent from a recognized University or Institution.
- A Master of Medicine Degree in Radiology or its equivalent from a recognized University or Institution.
- Registration with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council.
- Must be willing to undertake training in Oncology
- Must have a valid practicing license
- Key competencies required for the post: Planning, organizing and coordinating; Information Communication Technology (ICT); Teamwork; Accountability; Communicating effectively; Concern for quality and standards and Results-oriented; Report writing skills; Research; Experience providing medical services; Customer focused with ability to decipher customer expectations.
