About Organisation:
Uganda Cancer Institute (UCI) is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Health, established by the Uganda Cancer Institute Act, 2016. The Act mandates the Institute to manage and coordinate cancer care and cancer-related conditions across the country. UCI’s core functions include cancer treatment, prevention, research, and training in fields such as Oncology, Pediatrics, Gynecology, Radiotherapy, Surgery, Imaging and Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, and other related specialties.
Job Summary: To provide administrative and logistical support to the Institute.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: The incumbent will be responsible to Senior Assistant Secretary for performing the following duties: –
- Implementing the Institute administrative systems, policies, and procedures.
- Participate in planning, scheduling, and promoting office events, including meetings, conferences and interviews.
- Participate in planning and budgeting for the Administration unit.
- Participate in special projects and tracking progress towards Institute goals.
- Supervising, mentoring and appraising staff.
- Compiling and submitting reports.
- Any other duties that may be assigned.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Must have an honors Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science, Arts, or Social Work and Social Administration or Public Administration or Business Administration (Management option) or Office Management or Management Science from a recognized Institution.
- A certificate in Administrative Law will be highly desirable.
- A proven work experience in the provision of Administrative services in the health sector or reputable Organization
- Key competencies required for the post: The incumbent should have key competences in: Change Management; ICT; Effective communication; Ethics and Integrity; Assertiveness; Self-control; Teamwork and Time management and Report writing skills
