UgaLumber Company Ltd, a strategic initiative of UTG Wood Mill Ltd—a collective of 20 progressive commercial tree growers managing over 5,000 hectares of mature Eucalyptus and Pine plantations—aims to unlock the full value of Uganda’s forestry sector by producing high-quality timber for the construction and furniture industries. Through this venture, UgaLumber will improve market access for tree growers, generate sustainable returns, and position Uganda as a regional leader in responsible and sustainable timber production.

Job Summary: The Wood & Timber Sales Officer will drive revenue growth by identifying, developing, and managing sales opportunities for UgaLumber’s sawn timber and value-added wood products. This role involves cultivating strong customer relationships, negotiating contracts, executing sales strategies, and ensuring timely delivery in line with client requirements. The position demands a deep understanding of timber market trends, customer preferences, and competitive pricing strategies, as well as the ability to translate UgaLumber’s operational capabilities into compelling sales offers.

The role requires close collaboration with production, logistics, and yard teams to align sales commitments with actual inventory and production schedules, ensuring customer satisfaction and repeat business.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:




  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Sales & Marketing, Business Administration, Forestry, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in sales within the timber, construction materials, or related industrial sector.
  • Strong understanding of timber products, grading standards, and applications.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic sales reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of Eucalyptus and Pine timber products is a strong advantage.
