Job Summary: We are looking for a passionate and talented Telecom Engineer for our client in the Telecom Industry. The ideal candidate will supervise the installation, configuration, and commissioning of telecommunications and ICT systems, including network switches, routers, servers, and power systems across EACOP sites.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise the installation of telecom systems in accordance with approved designs
- and method statements.
- Verify the proper installation of network cabinets, CCTV, PAGA, Wi-Fi, VHF, Access Control Systems (ACS), and Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS).
- Carry out the integration and connection of active equipment such as routers, amplifiers, servers, and power units.
- Perform power checks and continuity testing on active telecom components.
- Lead and validate pre-commissioning, functional, and operational testing activities.
- Ensure all documentation, quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) records, and system acceptance reports are accurately maintained.
- Provide on-site technical support and guidance to technicians and assistants
- Enforce adherence to EACOP and site-specific safety policies
- Maintain and submit HSE records and incident reports
- Ensure all team members and contractors comply with relevant legal, regulatory, and certification requirements
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering.
- Registered with the Uganda Engineers Registration Board (UERB).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in telecom system installation and commissioning.
- OSHA compliant with a valid medical certificate.
- Familiarity with EACOP or similar oil & gas telecom systems is an advantage.
- Proficient in interpreting network layouts, technical drawings, and wiring
- schematics.
- Skilled in safe electrical and telecom installation practices.
- Active participation in site safety audits, drills, and toolbox talks
