Job Summary: The Student Talent Development Specialist plays a central role in preparing students for the evolving world of work by equipping them with the professional competencies, mindsets, and tools needed to thrive in diverse workplaces. This role blends career coaching, personal development, and experiential learning design to develop high-potential, future-ready graduates aligned to global industry expectations.

The Student Talent Development Specialist collaborates closely with faculty, industry partners, and student affairs teams to deliver impactful development programs, and ensures continuous learning pathways that promote growth in leadership, emotional intelligence digital literacy, and workplace behaviour.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Talent and Employability Development

  • Design, deliver, and evaluate training programs, workshops, and courses focused on professional readiness, workplace skills, and career agility.
  • Conduct one-on-one coaching sessions with students to identify strengths, career goals, and development needs.
  • Facilitate student reflection and learning through structured development plans and co-op work term reviews.

Curriculum and Experiential Learning Integration

  • Work with academic departments to embed career readiness competencies within course and program offerings.
  • Integrate experiential learning frameworks into development programs, including simulations, projects, peer-led activities, and industry mentorship
  • Support reflective learning processes that translate work experience into employability outcomes.

Student Success Pathways Building

  • Co-develop individualised learning journeys for students, incorporating assessments, goal setting, mentorship,
  • Design scalable learning modules across the Career Readiness and Employability program, expanding on topics such as self-leadership, professional branding, workplace ethics, and digital communication.
  • Track student participation and progression through talent development programs and provide reports on impact.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner with industry and alumni to co-create learning experiences, guest sessions, and developmental feedback opportunities.
  • Collaborate with other specialists and coordinators in the office to align programming with placement timelines academic calendars, and student cohort needs.
  • Participate in knowledge exchange forums, learning networks, and benchmarking exercises to align university practices with global trends in talent development.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:




  • A good Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Resources Development, Industrial Psychology, Social Sciences, Business, Career Guidance or related field.

Minimum Experience:

  • At least Minimum 3 years’ experience in career development, student success, leadership training, human capital development, student engagement, people management or team coordination with a demonstrated ability to support individuals in achieving growth and development goals.

Competencies

  • Strong facilitation, coaching, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to mentor, guide and inspire students or teams.
  • Understanding of emerging trends in the future of work and 21st-century skill development.
  • Strong organisational, coordination and communication skills, with experience in planning and delivering programs or activities.
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including students, alumni, faculty, and staff and foster a supportive environment for growth.
  • Strategic thinker with commitment to supporting student development and success.
  • Passion for developing young talent and commitment to helping students realise their potential.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with experience in planning and delivering programs or activities.
