About Organisation:
Uganda Free Zones and Export Promotions Authority (UFZEPA) is a Statutory Government Agency established by the Free Zones (Amendment) Act 30 of 2024, and is responsible for the establishment, development, management, marketing, maintenance, supervision and control of Free Zones; the development, promotion and coordination of all export-related activities; and to provide for related matters.
Job Summary: To study the production and distribution of resources, goods, and services by collecting and analyzing data, researching and evaluating trends of economic issues and recommending solutions in the Authority
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Research and analyze economic issues supporting fiscal and monetary policy management
- Conduct surveys, collect data and prepare analytical reports for public interventions
- Analyze data using mathematical models and statistical techniques
- Prepare and submit reports, tables and charts presenting research results
- Interpret and forecast market trends for products in the Authority
- Conduct feasibility studies to determine project viability and set priorities
- Identify, prepare, evaluate and monitor development projects and programs
- Provide technical guidance on economic development topics in the Authority
- Support policy design and recommendations to solve economic problems
- Support project teams to increase technical rigor of deliverables
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Economics or Statistics
Work Experience
- Three (3) years’ experience at Economist level in Government or equivalent in a reputable organization
