Unifi Africa is a fast-growing financial technology company currently operating in Zambia, Tanzania and South Africa and most recently Uganda. Unifi Uganda delivers personal lending products from branch-based channels, utilising internally generated software and lending products backed by internal IT and data analytics teams.

 

Job Summary: We are looking for a candidate to join a robust finance team that will influence and guide finance and other departments within the business with strategic insights derived from financial and operational data.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analysis of financial results, monitor key performance metrics, analyze variances, identify trends and recommend actions to management, including branch profitability analysis.
  • Produce financial reports and develop strategies for long-term financial goals.
  • Prepare cash flow statements and forecasts to support cash flow planning.
  • Support fundraising efforts from origination to reporting
  • Collaborating with business units to develop accurate and realistic budgets and forecasts that align with the company’s overall goals.
  • Creating and interpreting financial models to support decision-making and assess the commercial viability of new projects or strategies.
  • Identify risks, areas for operational efficiency and workflow improvements
  • Design, implement, and manage financial projects.
  • Serve as a liaison between finance and operations.
  • Carry out operational reconciliations affecting financials.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:




  • Degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Five years of relevant experience in a mid-senior finance role.
  • Strong independent work ethic.
  • Detail-oriented with the capacity to handle complex information.
  • Analytical thinker with strong numerical, problem-solving abilities and quick decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership abilities, with a talent for simplifying complex financial information for non-financial stakeholders.
  • Skilled in negotiating terms and pricing with stakeholders and managing relationships with banks and suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to influence and work cross functionally.
