Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support Assets & Liabilities Committee in driving an efficient and optimal balance sheet structure as well as providing input into the liquidity risk and interest rate risk management processes ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and international best practices.
- To review the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger with respect to the Bank’s balance sheet in as far as it impacts liquidity and interest rate risk measurement, as well as supporting a robust and quality reporting process of the same
- Analysing opportunities and risks presented by evolutions in macro-economic variables. As well to proactively anticipate market and regulatory challenges as well as applicable stress scenarios in ensuring that the balance sheet is proactively managed.
- Re-calibration of all behavioural liquidity assumptions in line with policy. Run forecasting models and scenario analysis to anticipate potential future liquidity constraints and interest rate risks. Review and update assumptions pertaining to liquidity stress testing and associated contingency plans.
- Report and escalate liquidity, IRRBB and capital limit and appetite breaches to the appropriate governance structures in line with policy to manage balance sheet risk and implement remedial actions.
- Engage with business units to understand their strategy to develop and refresh the bank’s funding plan.
- Perform pipeline analysis including composition and yields as well as impact on mismatches for proper liquidity planning. Collate the house view on rates as well as anticipated impact on NII to drive action planning to mitigate potential adverse effects
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- First Degree: Business, Finance, Treasury, Economics and Accounting, or related fields.
- Certifications or professional memberships: Qualified Chartered Accountant, Certified Corporate Treasurer, Actuarial, Certified Financial Analyst, or similar business, numerically biased certification.
- 3-5 years deep specialist experience within the banking industry specifically modelling and analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to provide detailed insights regarding financial statements to senior and executive leaders.
