Job Summary: The Mifos / Fineract Developer will lead the customization, development, and integration of our Mifos X / Apache Fineract system to align with Baikal’s operational needs. The role involves building and improving modules, integrating APls, and ensuring smooth system performance across all departments.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Customize and enhance Mifos X / Apache Fineract for microfinance operations.
- Develop new modules, APls, and features as per business requirements.
- Integrate the system with external services (mobile money, CRB, payment gateways).
- Configure loan, savings, and client management products.
- Manage data migration and branch system setup.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software issues efficiently.
- Collaborate with business teams to define and implement solutions.
- Maintain technical documentation and provide user training.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- 2-4 years of hands-on experience with Mifos X / Apache Fineract.
- Strong skills in Java, Spring Framework, MySQL, REST APIs.
- I Knowledge of Angular/React, Linux, Docker, and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Understanding of microfinance workflows, loan lifecycle, and accounting modules.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with mobile money integrations (MTN, Airtel,etc.).
- Background in microfinance or fintech systems.
- Familiarity with KYC, client onboarding, or credit scoring systems.
