Job Summary: The Manager Business Finance acts as a strategic financial partner to the business, integrating finance, business strategy, and data analytics to enhance profitability and ensure the achievement of the bank’s strategic goals.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Business Planning & Execution
- Support the development, refinement, and execution of the bank’s strategic business plan.
- Provide financial insights and scenario modelling to inform strategic choices and business priorities.
- Monitor implementation of strategic initiatives, highlighting risks, dependencies, and performance gaps.
- Facilitate cross-functional alignment between finance, business units, and strategy functions.
Business Performance Management
- Lead business performance reviews at executive and business unit levels, using KPIs and dashboards to track outcomes against targets.
- Prepare and present weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reports, including board-level presentations and management briefing packs.
- Analyze business segments (e.g., Retail, Corporate, Digital, Treasury) and identify areas for performance improvement or investment.
- Evaluate productivity and efficiency of sales teams, branches, and products, recommending actionable improvements.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Drive budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes across all business units.
- Develop financial models and forecasts to evaluate new initiatives, cost optimization strategies, and investment returns.
- Support annual planning, reforecasting cycles, and capital allocation decisions with robust financial analytics.
Business Intelligence & MIS Reporting
- Develop and automate management information systems (MIS) and dashboards using Power BI, Excel VBA, or SQL.
- Leverage internal and external data to create actionable insights for senior management decision-making.
- Improve data governance and standardization for performance reporting across all business lines.
Risk & Revenue Assurance
- Conduct revenue assurance to identify revenue leakage points and implement preventive controls and revenue assurance frameworks.
- Collaborate with the Risk function to incorporate risk-adjusted performance metrics into planning and performance tracking.
Product & Channel Strategy Support
- Work with Product, Digital Banking, and Channel teams to evaluate product performance, customer uptake, and revenue contribution.
- Segment customer and market data to identify profitable niches and opportunities for cross-sell and upsell.
- Support the lifecycle management of banking products by offering data-backed product profitability and risk insights.
Strategic Projects & Change Initiatives
- Manage strategic projects, including business transformation, cost containment, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Review project plans and prepare benefit realization reports for implemented projects.
- Lead or support strategic engagements with regulators, auditors, or external stakeholders where business performance input is required.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business course or related discipline.
- Master’s Degree in business administration or finance-related field.
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial services with demonstrated experience
- in:
- Business Performance Management Financial Analysis and MIS Reporting
- Product Development Support
- Strong experience with business intelligence tools (Power BI, Salesforce, Oracle BI, SQL, Excel VBA).
Business Behaviours:
- Strategic financial thinking with strong analytical skills.
- Excellent presentation and stakeholder management abilities.
- Advanced Excel, Power BI, and data modelling skills.
- n-depth knowledge of banking operations, products, and digital channels.
- Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams.
