Job Title: Machine Operator

Asili Farms is a fully-mechanized farming company that manages dual-season production of high-quality maize and soybeans for supply to regional food processors. Asili became operational in January 2014 and is currently farming on over 5,000 ha of land in Western Uganda under a conservation agriculture and precision farming approach to maximize yields efficiently and sustainably.
Job Summary: The job purpose of a machine operator is to set up, operate, and maintain machinery to produce high-quality results efficiently and safely.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operating various farm machinery in good condition.
- Recording inputs and reporting breakdowns or damages.
- Conducting daily checklists and services, notifying mechanics for scheduled maintenance.
- Supporting maintenance by reporting faults and assisting in troubleshooting.
- Keeping machines clean and removing potentially damaging tools.
- Reporting machine faults and sharing error codes.
- Mentoring junior operators in equipment handling and mechanics.
- Performing additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Valid machinery operating license is mandatory.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in operating agricultural equipment.
- Proficiency in operating various machinery types such as tillage tools, planters, sprayers, and combines.
- Working knowledge of English and Kiswahili.
