Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Project Implementation:

  • Ensure timely execution and implementation of all components of the Area Program Integrated Program Framework (IPF) and Sponsorship Foundations, in close collaboration with district and sub-county extension and technical staff.
  • Identify and build the capacity of key community stakeholders and partners in the Empowered Worldview (EWV) approach, promoting community transformation through scripture-based reflection, appreciation of local assets, social cohesion, and collective action.
  • Integrate Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) into program activities to reduce social and economic disparities within families and communities caused by gender, disability, or other social factors.
  • Implement child-focused project activities in a way that enhances child protection and participation by strengthening local child protection partners, referral systems, and integrating child protection into all program interventions.
  • Lead the effective rollout of the adaptive programming approach in the AP’s designated primary focus area, ensuring flexibility and responsiveness to changing community needs.
  • Ensure agile, adaptive, and accountable implementation of project activities, delivering results on time and within the approved budget.
  • Collaborate with community structures, including government extension agents and community volunteers/Tots, to identify capacity gaps among beneficiaries, and use this insight to inform planning and delivery of relevant interventions.
  • Prepare and submit timely project updates to support ongoing periodic review and reflection meetings.
  • Mobilize registered children and their caregivers within household clusters to actively participate in and benefit from program interventions designed to improve their wellbeing and resilience.

Stakeholders’ engagement, networking, and collaboration:

  • Establish and nurture strong working relationships with key stakeholders and partners, including government officials, NGOs, churches, academic institutions, and the private sector.
  • Actively participate in stakeholder engagement platforms, including planning and development meetings, workshops, inter-agency coordination forums, and sector working group meetings within the operational area.
  • Organize and lead regular stakeholder review meetings to assess progress, share best practices, reflect on impact, and discuss exit and sustainability strategies, fostering action-learning and collaboration.
  • Facilitate integration of project activities with sponsorship operations, in collaboration with the Sponsorship and Protection Officer, Community Volunteer Associations (COVAs), and household cluster structures.
  • Coordinate monthly field planning meetings with community partners to ensure aligned, efficient, and timely implementation of project activities.
  • Establish strategic linkages and partnerships at sub-county level, strengthening collaboration and supporting the implementation of jointly agreed action plans.
  • Support the formation and operationalization of household clusters as platforms for delivering transformational development and community empowerment.
  • Plan and facilitate child development and participation initiatives, ensuring children’s voices and wellbeing are prioritized within programme interventions.

Monitoring, documentation, Reporting, and learning:

  • Develop and implement an internal monitoring and operational plan to oversee project activities executed by partners, including community volunteers.
  • Conduct regular field-level spot checks to assess the quality and progress of activities implemented by partners.
  • Plan, coordinate, and lead joint monitoring visits to project sites in collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring consistent oversight and accountability.
  • Ensure timely preparation and submission of high-quality reports in accordance with donor and World Vision Uganda (WVU) standards and timelines.
  • Maintain transparent and accurate records of all project data, implementation progress, and financial updates, ensuring compliance with donor and WVU policies.
  • Organize and facilitate monthly and quarterly review/reflection meetings with project stakeholders and partners to track progress, share insights, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Lead the documentation and dissemination of impact stories, best practices, and lessons learned, supporting replication and scale-up of successful project interventions.
  • Mobilize and engage stakeholders in the development of key cluster documents, including the Annual Operating Plan and Budget.
  • Support the design and redesign of programmed alignment with Annual Programme Approach (APA) guidelines and partnership standards. Strategic direction.

Child Protection and Wellbeing:

  • Always ensure full compliance with World Vision Uganda’s Child and Adult Safeguarding Policy, promoting a safe environment for all project participants.
  • Monitor the wellbeing of children and promptly report any incidents or concerns related to child abuse, in accordance with child protection policies and established reporting guidelines.
  • Collaborate with local leaders and structures to prevent and respond to violations of children’s rights, promoting a community-wide culture of child protection.
  • Conduct sensitization sessions for children—including the most vulnerable—parents, guardians, and community stakeholders on children’s rights, responsibilities, and available protection mechanisms.

Management of Integrated Programming for RC wellbeing Effectively support integrated approach to Child Sponsorship programming:

  • Operationalize integration of Child Sponsorship operations with other sector development intervention to realize work efficiency and Child Wellbeing.
  • Ensure RCs and their households to meaningfully participate and benefit from Programme activities.
  • Identify integration opportunities between Child Sponsorship and other cluster sector operations for work efficiency and Child Wellbeing and then influencing cluster sector leads.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:




  • Minimum of a Degree in Social work, health and nutrition, education, agriculture, or any other relevant discipline. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in community work and engagement in a reputable organization
  • Computer literate
  • Writing and reporting skills
  • Ability to communicate in applicable local language(s).
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Good people skills, strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proven conceptual & analytical skills, ability to take an evidence-based approach to program design.
  • Proven facilitation skills and history demonstrate high integrity, innovativeness, creativity, reliability, and dependability.
  • Proactive personality, self-driven, and strongly motivated.
  • Effective in written and verbal communication in English and at least a minimum of one commonly used local language.
  • Ability to ride with a valid riding permit is a MUST.
