Job Summary: The Fleet Officer is responsible for the overall management, coordination, and cost efficiency of the company’s domestic logistics and fuel operations. This includes overseeing the company’s internal vehicle fleet, coordinating third-party transport services, and ensuring efficient fuel usage and reporting. The role is essential in ensuring coffee is moved reliably and cost-effectively from field sites to the Nyabirongo factory, and from the factory to Kampala.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Fuel and Resource Management

  • Monitor and report on fuel usage across all vehicles, identifying variances and ensuring fuel is used efficiently.
  • Implement systems to track cost per kilometre or litre for each vehicle.
  • Maintain accurate records of fuel distribution, fuel receipts, and storage.
  • Ensure proper fuel security and storage across all operational sites.

Logistics Coordination and Reporting

  • Develop and manage delivery schedules that align with factory intake and export dispatch timelines.
  • Ensure the entire domestic logistics system runs efficiently and cost-effectively, minimizing delays and maximising resource use.
  • Produce weekly and monthly reports on vehicle movement, third-party transport use, fuel consumption, cost comparisons, and logistical KPIs.
  • Support logistics planning during peak harvest seasons and special projects.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:




  • Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Transport Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3/4 years of experience in fleet or logistics management, preferably in the agricultural or export sector. Any industry would be considered.
  • Strong knowledge of Ugandan road networks, transport regulations, and cost control in fleets.
  • Experience managing external suppliers and transport contractors.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and fleet tracking systems.
  • Valid driving permit (Class B/C) required.
  • Strong planning and coordination skills.
  • High attention to cost efficiency and budgeting.
  • Analytical with strong reporting capabilities.
  • Clear communicator with field teams and senior management.
  • High integrity, discipline, and reliability.
  • Very good people person, able to work well and effectively with all types of roles and levels.
