Job Summary: The Fleet Manager is responsible for managing the acquisition, operation, maintenance, and disposal of vehicles within the company’s fleet. The role involves overseeing drivers, ensuring compliance with transportation regulations, and optimizing fleet performance and costs.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the vehicle fleet.
- Schedule and manage maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
- Track fleet usage, fuel consumption, and service records.
- Monitor and enforce driver compliance with safety and legal standards.
- Optimize routes and reduce transportation costs.
- Implement and manage GPS tracking systems and fleet management software.
- Manage vehicle procurement, leasing, and disposal processes.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
- Develop and manage the fleet budget, including fuel, repairs, and insurance.
- Analyze data and prepare reports on fleet performance and efficiency.
- Train drivers on company policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
- 3–5 years of experience in fleet management or logistics.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, transportation laws, and safety standards.
- Proficient in fleet management systems and MS Office.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
- Valid driver’s license.
